Trustee & Project Manager
Historic building restoration and conservation continues to be an area of interest and of concern. I have served as a trustee on a number of Charitable Trusts spanning 20 years or more. My early professional involvement was industrial archaeology with a specialism in historic watermills.
With my ongoing interest in waterpower and watermills I took the initiative and led an installation project of micro-hydropower as a renewable resource of energy. It is my belief that similar projects are likely to be viable wherever there is a watercourse with sufficient flow to power a watermill and would encourage feasibilities to be carried out wherever this potential is apparent.

The built environment
As a Building Preservation Trust, we rescued and restored The Space an historically important chapel on the Isle of Dogs, London, in order to give new life as a Performing Arts Centre; founder and project manager Robert Richardson, patron Sir Ian McKellen.
Being the founder and project manager of another Building Preservation Trust, I led the campaign and the fundraising strategy to rescue Crabble Corn Mill, to restore and regenerate it as a Kents' Working Mill Museum; later the first micro-hydropower generation project in S.E. England. Founder trustees R.J. Spain, Paul S. Jarvis, patron The Rt.Hon. Lord Brabourne.
